Bilston Sewer Pipe Bridge Repair

Storm Damage
The fallen trees have damaged the sewer pipe bridge which runs over Bilston Burn in Bilston Park, Midlothian
We are carrying out emergency works in Bilston, Midlothian following Storm Eowyn in January 2025.
Several trees were blown over, damaging a sewer pipe bridge over the Bilston Burn in Bilston Park.
The area has been fenced off to make it safe for the public and we are removing two trees to allow us to bring in equipment to bypass the damaged section of sewer. This will involve over pumping and also setting up scaffolding to carry the temporary pipework over the water.
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) has been informed.
Update - June 2025
Work to replace the pipe bridge is due to begin on Monday 9 June for approximately seven weeks.
There will be construction traffic utilising Caerketton Avenue, Myrtle Crescent and Bilston Burn Park. Local access will be maintained.
We would like to thank residents for their patience and understanding while we carry out this work and we will do all that we can to minimise any disruption.
