Kirkintilloch Water Main Upgrade
Project Overview
Scottish Water is upgrading the water pipes in Kirkintilloch to support community growth and ensure its customers continue to enjoy fresh, clear drinking water for years to come.
Work will begin on Monday, 11 August 2025 for approximately 11 weeks.
The work will take place on both Freeland Place and a section of Forth and Clyde Canal Towpath.
Scottish Water Horizons will be carrying out the work in conjunction with Mackenzie Construction.

What To Expect
From Monday, 11 August, a lane closure and parking restrictions will be in place on a section of Freeland Place for approximately 11 weeks.
Pedestrian access to all properties will be maintained, however; parking within this area will not be permitted during the work.
The Forth and Clyde Canal towpath from under the Kirkintilloch Bypass to Luggie Aqueduct will also be closed. A signposted diversion will be in place.
Scottish Water acknowledges the impact on residents and road users during this essential period of work.

Single lane closure on Freeland Place and section of canal path closed
Measures will be in place at these locations from Monday, 11 August, for approx. 11 weeks
