At this location:

We are updating a Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) and associated pipework.

There is a history of localised flooding during extreme weather. The CSO will safely divert excess storm water protecting homes and businesses.

Update April 2025

To continue the work to upgrade a storm overflow and install upgraded pipework in Springwell Place, there will be a full closure on Bridgend (at the bottom of Springwell Place) from Tuesday 22 April 2025.

The closure will be in two fortnightly phases – please see diagram below – before temporary traffic lights are introduced until the beginning of November. 

The monoblocked car parking spaces on Bridgend at the bottom of Springwell Place will be closed off for the duration to allow access to the working area.

Pedestrians will be able to walk through the works but we would ask them to follow all signs.

We will do all that we can to minimise any disruption and would like to thank everyone affected for their patience and understanding while we deliver this important project.
