City Centre Road Closure

Gordon Street is expected to be closed for four weeks to allow for repairs to the sewer network.

We are continuing our emergency sewer repair on Gordon Street in Glasgow City Centre to help reduce the risk of internal flooding in nearby properties.

Due to the depth of the sewer and the presence of multiple underground utilities, a road closure on Gordon Street has now been put in place to ensure the safety of our teams and the public.

The road closure is in place between Renfield Street and West Nile Street.

Work is expected to take four weeks but this depends on ground conditions and what is found once further excavation is underway.

A diversion route is in place via Drury Lane; however, for articulated lorries this will be a left turn only on to West Nile Street due to a tight turn.

The bus gate on Union Street has also been suspended for the duration of the works.

Local businesses remain open as usual and access for pedestrians will be maintained throughout the work.
