Challenging Repair
Kirkness Street remains closed and Bore Road is reduced to one lane under temporary traffic lights
We are carrying out an emergency sewer repair at the junction of Bore Road, Kirkness Street and Waverly Drive in Airdrie.
This is proving to be an extensive and complex project given the extreme depth – up to nine metres – of the pipe and its poor condition.
We have also experienced some delay with colleagues at SGN needing to carry out an unrelated emergency gas repair nearby.
Currently we are working on the grassy area on the corner of Kirkness Street and Bore Road. Kirkness Street remains closed to traffic while Bore Road is reduced to a single lane under temporary lights.
The repair and full reinstatement are expected to take until late July 2025 to be completed. We appreciate there has been disruption and inconvenience for road users and residents, but we are working as quickly as safety and conditions will allow.
